15x11" Water Lily at Sunrise Quilt
Water lilies and pads are one of Ann's favorite subjects, drawn from summers at Winona Lake, IN. The hand-dyed background inspired the title of this quilt. A rich rose fabric creates the central water lily, highlighted with sunny yellow tendrils in the center. The flower is richly embroidered with rose and gray threads. The lily pads are quilted with a wonderful blue-green-purple-rose variegated thread, which reflects the color in the applied border and binding. The quilting threads were chosen to match the tones onto which they were stitched. Wool batting.
