Beth Van Hoesen (1926–2010), artist and printmaker, created a remarkable body of limited edition art. This catalogue raisonne authoritatively documents and fully illustrates her work in limited-edition prints, books, and portfolios. Sample preparatory drawings and proofs with artist notes are also featured, allowing for a more complete understanding of Van Hoesen's art.
She studied art at Stanford University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1948. She traveled to France and studied at Ecole des Beaux Arts, Academie Julian, and Academie de la Grande Chaumiere. Her work is represented in numerous public collections, including the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco; Library of Congress, Washington, DC; The Museum of Modern Art, NY; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; and Racine Art Museum, WI.
