John Glick—Ceramic Box
This handsome dog bone shaped box was created by American potter John Glick (1938–2017) and is both functional as it is stylish. Its grey, burgundy, and blue glaze are highlighted by the unusual shape of the vessel. Only a master could cut this ziggurat shape for the opening of the box and have it fit perfectly!
John Glick’s work can be found in the permanent collection of The Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit, MI; The Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, NY; Gardiner Museum, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA; The Mint Museum, Charlotte, NC; Museums of Art and Design, New York, NY; The Newark Museum, Newark, NJ; Racine Art Museum, Racine, WI; and the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C.
