Made of iridescent abalone shells and dark agate, the slabs create stunning shapes and textures that can be worn by any man or woman. Horse Spirit Studio was created from the collaborative efforts of two women bead artists, Karen and Mary. Inspiration comes from Southwestern culture, environment, and spirituality. Mary Winona Roanhorse learned beading as a young girl from her Dine' (Navajo) grandmother and, like Karen, was once an archaeologist in the Southwest.
