Sugar Skull Pin
A calavera, in the context of Day of the Dead, is a representation of a human skull or skeleton. The term is often applied to edible or decorative skulls made from either sugar or clay, used in the Mexican celebration of El Dia de Los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) and the Roman Catholic holiday All Souls' Day (November 2). The sugar skull has become part of pop culture but is just as important a part of this fascinating celebration.
