Mary Bero—Still Lifes, 2013
Wisconsin artist Mary Bero's decorative fiber works or miniature tapestries combine embroidery techniques with painting, drawing to create an explosion of vibrant color, intimacy, and emotion. In Living Memory, the gridded area of images is colorfully worked with portraits, landscapes, object, and all classic Bero forms.
Her work has been shown in many solo and group exhibitions over a span of thirty-plus years and is found in collections around the U.S. as well as in Germany and the United Kingdom. Selected collections include Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Minneapolis, MN; Milwaukee Art Museum, WI; and Racine Art Museum, WI.
