Masako Oguro repurposes silk shibori dyed kimono and kimono jackets (haori) and transforms them into stylish garments from her studio in NYC. These lovely one-of-a kind Yūzen scarves can be worn with either side facing out, some have contrasting designs on the reverse and some have solid black on the back. Yūzen is a Japanese resist dyeing technique where dyes are applied inside outlines of dyed or undyed rice-paste resist. RAM’s selection of Japanese import scarves include many unique and one-of-a-kind examples—some dating back to World War II and before. These scarves also make for a beautiful table runner or wall hanging.
